The Access 2
Technology Project is a unique educational program which provides technology activities and
projects for youth in grades K-8. Using a hands-on approach with real computers, Students explore "How
Computers Work" while being guided through the computer refurbishing process. Along the way, students
learn to apply math and science concepts to real-world problem solving as they learn to clean, repair
and troubleshoot their computer system.
Our Program is provided free of charge to all youth participants. Funding for A2T is provided
through generous foundations, corporations, small businesses, civic groups and individual donors.
Projects are initiated based upon the availability of equipment and parts, adequate work/storage space
and of course, project funding. All of our computers are donated and then passed along to the
participants as a part of their involvement in the program.
We partner with schools and community based organizations to develop long range technology
planning and to build computer labs through Community Service-Learning Projects. Priority is given to
projects that serve those who are currently without access to ANY computer resources at their home or
school.
Partnering with other community organizations allows us to route PC or other unusable equipment
to more appropriate programs or to an environmentally safe recycling center.
We are currently seeking monetary donations and usable equipment for expanded program
delivery. We welcome an opportunity to explore possibilities for your contribution to the project.
We use Macintosh computer equipment exclusively.
